Richard will shave, trim, groom, brush, clean and wash your pet to help keep it feeling good through the dog days of summer.

Located at 4038 South 2700 East, Dawg Spaw caters to dogs and cats of all shapes, sizes and breeds. Whether your dog needs a complete grooming, or just a trim, Richard and his assistant Jessica make each pet feel comfortable, safe and cared for.

“We talk to [the pets] and take them for a little walk to help them feel comfortable,” Richard says. “We’re very friendly and treat the pets like they’re fragile. Once the owner leaves, [the pets] are usually okay.” Dogs and cats can get upset in new situations and environments, but Richard and Jessica take the time with each pet to get them acclimated to the experience. Once relaxed, the pets enjoy either a bath and brush, which includes nail trimming, or a full grooming session. Prices are determined by the weight of the pet and most jobs are usually done in three hours or less.

Keeping a pet’s teeth clean is another challenge. Regular trips to Dawg Spaw for a tooth cleaning session will keep a pet’s teeth and gums healthy. Ears are another often-neglected area but at Dawg Spaw, ear cleaning is done regularly to ensure good hearing and health.

“We’ve had vets tell our clients they are very happy with us and the way we clean up ears,” Richard says.

"Jessica grew up with a groomer and we’ve both gone through the pet academy for grooming,” Richard says. “We’re professional. We like to get in and get it done. We don’t mess around.”
