Be the Fittest on the Planet

Starting a new fitness program can be intimidating. Confusing weight machines, super-buff patrons and baffling fitness classes could keep almost anyone from stopping in at the gym. But Planet Fitness provides a Judgment Free Zone for its clients where anyone can work out in a healthy, respectful atmosphere. Located at 2334 East Fort Union Blvd., Planet Fitness is a fun, inviting, non-intimidating environment for anyone interested in making their body healthier.
“We pride ourselves on being different from other gyms,” says Nicole Moultrie, Planet Fitness manager. “We want regular people to come in and enjoying working out.”
For as low as $10 per month, patrons can visit Planet Fitness and get cardiovascular training as well as muscle strengthening. A fitness trainer helps explain how to use the exercise equipment and how to lift weights safely, and provides specific instructions for building muscle. The $10 membership is a month-to-month, no-commitment program and members can cancel at any time.
The PF Black Card membership is only $20 monthly and allows members to visit any of the 300 Planet Fitness gyms across the country. The Black Card also entitles members to unlimited guest privileges, unlimited tanning, half-price cooler drinks, a T-shirt and unlimited use of the massage chairs. With a 12-month commitment for the Black Card membership, patrons are more likely to keep working to attain their fitness goals.
People of every age, weight and size are discovering Planet Fitness and Nicole invites everyone to stop by and see the fitness facility.
“Come in and we’d love to give you a tour,” she says. “Once you get here, you’ll see it’s just regular people. We offer a no-commitment policy and no frills. Just basic stuff.”
Obnoxious weight dropping and distracting grunting isn’t allowed at Planet Fitness so members can focus on their workout without disruption. Extended operating hours can accommodate almost every schedule and employees do everything they can to make members feel comfortable.
Regular cardiovascular exercise has been shown to relieve and manage stress, increase longevity, lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and create an overall sense of wellness. With only 30 minutes of exercise daily, members can expect to see results very quickly.
“I think it’s cool to have a place where you feel you belong,” Nicole says. “We’re just excited to be in the neighborhood and help people get healthy.”
